The Toyota Tacoma is a midsize truck that’s well suited to a wide range of customers. It’s great for commuting, hauling kids, and going on impromptu weekend adventures. For 2023, it’s offered at seven trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, Trail Special Edition, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, and Limited. It also gets two new appearance packages in the SX and Chrome.
Under the hood of every 2023 Tacoma is either a 159-horsepower four-cylinder engine or a 278-horsepower V6. With the tow package, V6-powered models can tow up to 6,800 pounds. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, All-wheel drive is offered as an option on the Limited trim and comes standard on all the TRD models — these are the ones you’ll want if you expect to go off-road.
In particular, check out the TRD Pro. It will help you navigate obstacles and conquer difficult trails with its FOX® internal bypass shocks, factory lift kit, underbody skid plates, and all-terrain tires. It also has Crawl Control and a Multi-Terrain Monitor, making it easier to see around the truck and move forward with confidence.
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma gets an impressive array of standard and optional features that enhance comfort and convenience on daily drives. Its Smart Key System with Push Button Start enables you to lock, unlock, and start the truck without ever taking the key fob out of your pocket. The V6 models’ leather-wrapped steering wheel gives them an upscale feel.
On Limited models, the Tacoma has 10-way power-adjustable leather-trimmed seats and a high-end JBL® sound system take the truck straight into luxury territory. But even the most affordable Tacoma is well-equipped. For instance, every model has dual-zone automatic climate control as well as a one-touch power-opening rear window, so it’s easier to reach items in the back of the bed.
The Toyota Tacoma is available with either an Access Cab or Double Cab and with a 5- or 6-foot bed. The Access Cab has two full-sized doors and two smaller rear doors, with seating up to four. The Double Cab has four full-sized doors that make it easier for passengers to get in and out, as well as roomier rear seats and a maximum capacity of five passengers.
In the bed, special composite lining enhance durability while multiple tie-down points add to the truck’s practicality. The Tacoma is offered with an optional lockable and removable tailgate. Most models also have a 120-volt outlet.
When you’re behind the wheel of the 2023 Toyota Tacoma, it’s easy to stay connected. All models come with a high-definition touch screen that has built-in Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and Bluetooth® connectivity. You get an 8-inch touch screen at every trim level except for the base model, which has a 7-inch display. The Tacoma offers valuable optional features like additional USB ports and wireless device charging, useful for eliminating cable clutter in the cabin.
