Safe Exit Alert
By using radar sensors inside the rear bumper, Safe Exit Alert (SEA) * helps detect approaching vehicles from the rear. If the system determines that there may be a collision with a door opening, it will provide an audible alert, as well as a visual alert that will appear on the side mirrors.
Integrated Backup Camera
Put Prius in reverse, and the standard backup camera * automatically activates to help show you what’s behind your vehicle on the available 12.3-in. multimedia display.
Blind Spot Monitor With Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) * warns you when a vehicle in the next lane enters Prius’ blind spot on either side. When you’re in reverse, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) * helps detect vehicles approaching from either side, warning you with side mirror indicators and an audio tone.

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) * is designed to help detect a vehicle, pedestrian, bicyclist, or motorcyclist and provide an audio/visual forward-collision warning under certain circumstances. If you don’t react, the system is designed to provide automatic emergency braking.
Lane Tracing Assist
Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) * helps keep the vehicle centered and, with EDSS, can stop the vehicle if the driver is unresponsive.
Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) * and available Full-Speed Range DRCC * are adaptive cruise control systems for highway use, set at speeds above 20 mph, using vehicle-to-vehicle distance control to help maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead.
Proactive Driving Assist
When system operating conditions are met, using the vehicle’s camera and radar, Proactive Driving Assist (PDA) * provides gentle braking into curves or gentle braking and/or steering to help support driving tasks such as distance control between your vehicle and a preceding vehicle, pedestrian or bicyclist.
